Our gay hearts are bursting for the upcoming Red, White & Royal Blue movie, and we don’t even have a release date yet.

Filming for the highly-anticipated book adaptation of Red, White & Royal Blue is in full swing!

Taylor Zakhar Perez (Alex Claremont-Diaz) and Nicholas Galitzine (Prince Henry) announced filming back in June when they posted an adorable video arguing over who is taller. The video also gave fans of the Casey McQuiston novel a look at the chemistry between the two actors, and they were not disappointed.

Now, the cast and crew are giving us more of the content we desire, Perez and Galitzine together on set. McQuiston – the mastermind behind our favorite ship, First-Prince – shared polaroid pictures of her with the stars on her Instagram page. Regardless of who is taller, the author did confirm that she is shorter than them both.

Out playwright Matthew López (The Inheritance) will make his directorial debut with the movie adaptation. He also shared images of Perez and Galitzine writing, “It’s been a joy to watch Henry and Alex come to life in the room. Excited to make this movie with them. Here we go!”

Red, White & Royal Blue is a Young Adult Love Story

Red, White & Royal Blue follows the Mexican-American character Alex Claremont-Diaz (Perez), who, upon his mother’s election as President, is promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, brilliant―his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There’s only one problem: Alex has a long-running feud with his royal counterpart across the pond, Prince Henry (Galitzine). And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an altercation between the two, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse. Heads of family, state, and other handlers devise a plan for damage control: staging a truce between the two rivals.

What at first begins as a fake, Instragramable friendship grows into something more meaningful than either Alex or Henry could have imagined. Soon, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret romance with a surprisingly unstuffy Henry that could complicate his mother’s re-election campaign and upend two nations, and begs the question: Can love save the world after all?

The film also stars Emmy-Award nominee Clifton Collins Jr., Screen Actors Guild Award winner Stephen Fry, Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson (Winning Time), Ellie Bamber (The Serpent), Aneesh Sheth (A Kid Like Jake), Polo Morín (Who Killed Sara?), Ahmed Elhaj (Dangerous Liaisons), and Akshay Khanna (Polite Society).

Alright, I’m going to go read the book again until Amazon gives us a movie trailer.
