The First Trailer for ‘Katy Keene’ Is Here and It’s Very Gay

The first trailer for Katy Keene is here, and it’s very, very queer.

The musical drama is a spin-off of the hit series Riverdale, which is based on Archie Comics. It follows singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) as she moves to New York City five years after the adventures of Riverdale.

In NYC, she meets up with fashionista Katy Keene (Lucy Hale), and the pair chases their dreams while looking for love alongside a group of friends.

Sounds like just another heteronormative CW show, right? Wrong. As seen in the show’s first trailer, Katy Keene teases loads of queer content to come. Keep an eye out for a few same-sex kisses and several fierce drag queens (yes, that’s Shangela!).

The Drag Race star plays Devereaux, the rival of Jorge (Jonny Beauchamp), an ambitious Broadway performer and drag queen.

Katy Keene premieres on February 6 on The CW. Watch the trailer below!
