“It’s in a safe locked away.”

Like Daniel Radcliffe, who took home the iconic Harry Potter glasses as a token for his time on set, Mark Wahlberg admits he took a prop from the 1997 classic Boogie Nights. His large prosthetic.

While promoting his new project, Father Stu, Whalberg appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He played a game of rapid-fire questions where the host asked if he still had the famous prosthetic he wore in the period drama.

Where Is The Prosthetic Now?

“Yes, yes. It’s in a safe locked away,” Wahlberg dished. “It’s not something I could leave out. All of a sudden my kids are looking for a spare phone charger and pull that thing out and go, ‘What the heck is this?!’ It wouldn’t be a good look.”

Though his kids have not seen the prosthetic, Wahlberg said his daughter has watched his movie. “She has not had the conversation with me. Thank god, she’s sparing me,” he joked.

Wahlberg Recalls Getting His Big Break

Wahlberg played porn star Dirk Diggler in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights. The film earned the actor his first Screen Actors Guild nomination.

“The expectations were so low when I started acting,” said Wahlberg. “You do something remotely interesting, ‘Oh my god, he’s fantastic!’ Next thing you know, they nominate me for an Oscar and I didn’t even do anything. But I definitely worked harder than everybody and I wanted to make sure that I could prove to filmmakers that I was capable of doing the best job for them and I would do anything for them.”

Since then, Wahlberg has accumulated several award nominations, including two more SAG Awards and two Academy Awards, one for Best Supporting Actor in The Departed and another when The Fighter was up for Best Picture. Wahlberg worked as a producer on the film.

We’re glad to hear the prosthetic has a safe place inside Wahlberg’s home even after 25 years. What other movie tokens does the actor have hiding in that safe?
