Dan Levy Hints at a ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Movie After the Final Season

Is a Schitt’s Creek movie in the works?

Over the past six years, Schitt’s Creek slowly gained traction as a small half-hour show on Canadian network Pop TV. During that time, it became a global phenomenon with legions of fans. Five seasons are available to stream on Netflix, and the sixth season is airing now. Although it’s in its final season, the show is at the peak of its popularity.

While fans prepare for the end, a new cover story for Variety is giving them up. In the cover story, the Schitt’s Creek creator Dan Levy revealed that maybe he could rally the troops for one last hurrah.

According to the cover story, 3.7 million viewers are tuning in to watch season six. Variety reports, “when you count live and delayed viewing of multiple telecasts and the channel’s digital platforms.” That number represents a substantial surge in viewership, and it doesn’t even include the show’s numbers on the streaming giant Netflix.

“I wish that this show could have gone on 100 seasons,” Levy told Variety. “But it’s quality over quantity.”

“If an idea crosses my path that I feel is deserving of our cast’s time, then let’s do it,” Levy continued. “I don’t know what it could possibly be at this point. But I would love to revisit these characters, and I would love to get to play with this cast again. I feel very proud of the work that we’ve done, and I wouldn’t want to do anything that compromises that.”
