Get in loser, we’re getting married!
Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett wed his TV host fiance Jaymes Vaughan in a beautiful ceremony in Mexico last weekend.
The couple celebrated their five years of love together with 100 of their closest friends and family at the Unico Riviera Maya Hotel.
“When you’re part of the LGBTQ+ fam, not everything in the wedding space is for you yet,” Vaughan told PEOPLE. “The whole purpose of our wedding is to come together and join the two of us together, join our families together and start a new family.”

The two opted to stray from tradition and instead fabricated their own dream wedding. They had their close friend Brian Tyler Cohen officiate the nuptials and dressed the wedding party in sleek black and white tuxes.
“It’s gender-neutral but everyone looks represented and feels sexy in their own way,” Bennett said. “So it’s like a new tradition for the community. You don’t have to do dresses and tuxes. Anyone who wants to wear a tux, wear a tux, go for it.”
The Engagement
Vaughan proposed to Bennett in November 2020 with an original song he wrote alongside friend and songwriter Tanzer. Bennett shared the video of the emotional moment he realized his longtime partner was about to get down on one knee. Queue the waterworks.

The couple played the song on their wedding day while walking the beach and meeting each other at the altar.
Other Wedding Details
Vaughan chose white roses for the floral arrangements to honor his late mother and each of the grooms placed a diamond-encrusted band on their partner’s ring finger.
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jackie Cox serves as an emcee and to close the night, everyone gathered for a fireworks display with music from The Greatest Showman.
“I got to marry my best friend! I knew we’d be emotional but I don’t think either of us realized just how overwhelming that moment would be until we were in it,” Vaughan said. “Seeing him crying only made me cry harder, and then our guests cry harder, and then we’d all start laughing, and then all back into crying.”
