Dylan Mulvaney, a social media sensation and winner of the Groundbreaking Award at the 2023 Queerties Awards, is looking for love.

The actress and LGBTQIA+ activist began documenting her journey as a transgender woman last March on TikTok. Since then, her “Days of Girlhood” series has gone from shopping trips and makeup tips to visits to speaking with Joe Biden at the White House and walking the red carpet at the Grammys. Earlier this year, the TikTok star posted a face reveal after undergoing facial feminization surgery, and on March 13, she is celebrating 365 days of being a girl.

“If I can influence somebody to smile or to be a little bit closer to their true self or to go buy the Trader Joe’s gnocchi, then it’s a win in my book,” she said during her acceptance speech at the Queerties. “It’s all worth it — even the hate, which I just respond to with trans joy. And maybe that’s what’s really groundbreaking is trans joy, and not in the way that it’s new because trans joy always existed, but I think trans joy in the hellscape that is 2023 is groundbreaking.”

Dylan Does Dating

Though Mulvaney is grateful for her career and the accomplishments she has made in just one year, there is one objective on her bucket list that she is hoping to explore more in 2023: Dating. She told People Magazine that she is still waiting for her first kiss since coming out as a transgender woman.

“I’m getting a little impatient because, especially when you’re feeling yourself and even looking at that Grammys picture, I’m like, that’s somebody who should not be single,” she said. “But then you’re like, wait, why is no one in the DMs?”

Last month, Mulvaney gave old Hollywood glam on the Grammy’s red carpet in a stunning, floor-length gown by Christian Siriano. So far, the dating game is not what she hoped it would be, but she is not giving up.

“I very much feel like I get a do-over as far as some of those negative experiences that I have had romantically,” she said. “And I want to do it right this time.”

Dylan Opens Up About Her Ideal Partner

When she does find the right person, she said she will introduce them to her followers when it feels right. “I can’t wait for the day that I get to show people that a trans person can be in a healthy, happy relationship.”

As for what she is looking for in a partner, Mulvaney said she wants them to be able to make her laugh. “Because so much of starting to succeed and have these great things come has been a little serious at times, having to put this businesswoman hat on. But I think once I do meet that person that can add some levity, add some lightness back to my life and I know that I can make them laugh in the same way, that is going to be chef’s kiss.”

We are rooting for you, Dylan!

The actress’ one year anniversary celebration will take place on March 13 at the Rainbow Room in New York City. Live stream tickets are available for five dollars, and all the proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project.
