About Spears’ Conservatorship

In 2008, Britney Spears entered a conservatorship with her father as her main conservator, giving him control over her life and finances for over a decade. Recent documentaries and the rise of the Free Britney movement shed light on her situation, drawing public attention to her quest for independence. Finally, in September 2021, after extensive court proceedings, Britney’s father, Jamie, was stripped of his power, making way for a certified public accountant chosen by Britney to take over as her conservator.
