The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (WHCC), in partnership with the City of West Hollywood, is introducing a new initiative aimed at boosting the local economy and supporting small businesses. WeHappy Wednesdays, which runs throughout April 2025, will offer free parking at all parking meters, city-owned surface lots, and city parking structures every Wednesday evening from 4 PM to midnight.

This initiative, part of WHCC’s broader WeHo Gives Back program, is designed to make it easier for residents, visitors, and the surrounding community to enjoy everything West Hollywood has to offer while supporting local businesses.

“WeHappy Wednesdays is more than just free parking. It’s about ensuring our local businesses remain vital and thriving,” said Genevieve Morrill, President and CEO of WHCC. “We want to encourage people to come out, visit their favorite spots, discover new venues, and experience the best that West Hollywood has to offer—whether that’s dining, shopping, or entertainment.”

By offering free parking during a key evening time, WeHappy Wednesdays aims to eliminate one of the common obstacles that can deter people from visiting the area: the cost of parking. With this initiative, WHCC hopes to drive foot traffic to West Hollywood’s vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, galleries, and entertainment venues, particularly during the spring season.

The initiative is particularly timely as many local businesses continue to recover from the economic challenges of the past few years, including the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and recent wildfires. With shifting consumer habits and rising costs, small businesses in West Hollywood have faced a difficult road to recovery. WeHappy Wednesdays is a direct response to these challenges, providing an opportunity for both longtime residents and newcomers to rediscover the city’s eclectic and dynamic local scene.

West Hollywood is home to more than 200 entertainment-oriented businesses, including renowned restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and lounges, along with art galleries and boutique stores. These businesses play a vital role in shaping the city’s unique identity and contribute to its reputation as a world-class destination.

“We’re here to help our businesses navigate the current economic climate,” Morrill added. “By giving the community an incentive to visit and enjoy West Hollywood’s diverse offerings, we are also fostering a sense of community. We want to create a shared responsibility for the city’s success, where everyone has a role to play in supporting the businesses that make West Hollywood such a special place.”

The initiative is part of WHCC’s ongoing WeHo Gives Back program, which seeks to strengthen the local economy and enhance the well-being of the community. By offering free parking for four hours every Wednesday evening in April, WeHappy Wednesdays hopes to provide a financial relief to both local businesses and patrons, while also encouraging people to return to the city to enjoy dining, shopping, and nightlife without worrying about the hassle of parking fees.
