Neil Patrick Harris recently celebrated the 15th anniversary of his first date with husband, David Burtka.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the award-winning actor reflected on his relationship with his husband, David Burtka.
“I think the secret to a relationship is just perseverance, you know?” Harris said. “It’s not always pretty ― but he’s pretty, so it makes it easy.”

On April 1, Harris honored the anniversary of his first date with Burtka in an emotional Instagram post. The two men married in Italy on September 6, 2014.
“I’m so, so grateful to this gorgeous man for giving me his heart, his shoulder, his strength, his lust, his laughter, his joy,” Harris wrote alongside a photo of the two at Iceland’s Blue Lagoon. “He’s an actor, chef, author, singer, producer, and the most wonderful, selfless parent I’ve ever seen. A sextuple threat, if you will. And I most certainly will.”
The couple will celebrate their fifth year of marriage in September and Harris hasn’t planned that celebration. “That’s so many months away,” he quipped.
Harris and Burtka have two children, 8-year-old twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott.
