At Pedra do Telégrafo, perception is rarely reality.

Out traveler and filmmaker Enrique Alex and his boyfriend Miguel Oliva Márquez snapped the photo of a lifetime. The traveling duo visited the popular Pedra do Telégrafo to take a picture while dangling from the Instafamous cliff. The favorite rock formation is located on the south-eastern coast of Brazil just outside Rio de Janeiro.

The romantic photo shows the adorable couple kissing while Alex clings to the underside of the rock seemingly defying death.

In reality, he’s hanging a few feet from the ground and not in mortal danger. With the help of clever camera angles and the benefit of the area’s topography, snapping a daring photo is simple and relatively safe.
