Wonder woman is defending trans rights!

Lynda Carter, who is best known for playing the iconic superhero for the television adaptation of Wonder Woman in the ’70s, took to Twitter to speak out supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community.

“You don’t have to be trans to understand the importance of respecting trans people and affirming their identities,” the Wonder Woman star wrote. “Life is just too short. I can’t imagine how it makes any sense to use one’s fame and resources to put others down.”

While she didn’t call out Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling specifically, the tweet came after Rowling’s latest transphobic tweet. Rowling seems to make headlines for her TERF ways every couple of months or so. This time, the infamous author wrote, “War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The penised individual who raped you is a woman,” Rowling said while talking about an article on Scottish police honoring a prisoner’s gender identity.

Meanwhile, Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness directly addressed Rowling on Twitter.

“The biggest threats of violence against women has always been cisgender men, not trans women, unless J.K.’s constant transphobic, cherry-picked vitriol convinces you otherwise,” the non-binary star wrote. “But as trans women are assaulted, deprived of work, killed, and raped J.K. is safe in her mansion.”

It’s good to know there are still people with platforms like JVN and Carter who use their following to stick up for the trans community.
