Carey rose to prominence as part of the “Golden Girls” team, a moniker derived from the popular sitcom due to the team’s relatively older average age, a historic high for a U.S. gold-medal-winning team. Her teammates, including Simone Biles, Suni Lee, and Jordan Chiles, have all offered their congratulations. Biles commented “freaking cuuuuuute,” while Chiles wrote, “Periodt!!!!” with heart emojis.

Stephen Nedoroscik, a fellow Team USA athlete known for his pommel horse expertise, also expressed his support, commenting, “GO JADE!!!” The official Team USA gymnastics account added, “always applauding your authenticity.”

Carey’s announcement comes amid a broader recognition of LGBTQ+ athletes in sports. She was among the 195 openly LGBTQ+ athletes who competed in the 2024 Olympics. Throughout her gymnastics career, Carey has achieved significant milestones, including a gold medal in the 2020 Olympic floor exercises, a bronze medal in the 2024 vault, and another gold medal as part of the “Golden Girls” team victory.

The gymnast’s public declaration has sparked widespread interest, with fans and media outlets celebrating her openness. The revelation adds another layer to Carey’s already impressive career, highlighting her role as a prominent figure in both the sports world and the LGBTQ+ community.

Carey’s journey to Olympic success began with years of dedication and training. Her 2020 gold medal in the floor exercise solidified her status as one of the world’s top gymnasts. Her subsequent achievements, including the 2024 vault bronze and the team gold, further cemented her legacy.

The “Golden Girls” team, with its unique blend of experience and talent, captured the hearts of audiences worldwide. Their victory was seen as a testament to the perseverance and skill of its members, each of whom brought a wealth of experience to the competition.

Carey’s relationship announcement has drawn attention to the increasing visibility of LGBTQ+ athletes in professional sports. As more athletes come forward with their stories, they contribute to a more inclusive and accepting sports culture.

The online response to Carey’s post has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans expressing admiration for her courage and authenticity. The outpouring of support underscores the growing acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals in the public sphere.

As Carey embarks on this new chapter in her personal life, her professional career continues to thrive. Her influence extends beyond the gymnastics arena, serving as an inspiration to young athletes and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The public’s curiosity now turns to whether Carey will share her gymnastic skills with her partner. The prospect of Sinacola learning the intricacies of a scissors leap has generated lighthearted speculation among fans.
