It’s official! The fourth season of Bridgerton has its leading man. Benedict Bridgerton, the second eldest, will follow in his brothers’ footsteps and enter the marriage mart in the upcoming season of the period drama.
Fans have eagerly awaited Benedict’s season since falling in love with the artsy bachelor in 2020. The excitement is heightened by the recent confirmation of his sexuality, making him the show’s first leading queer character.
Benedict has had his fair share of steamy relationships with maidens in the ton. But, his bisexuality was confirmed through a steamy threesome. The handsome bachelor’s relationship with the widow Lady Tilley Arnold heats up, culminating in an invitation to join her and her friend Paul Suarez for dinner. Sparks fly as Benedict and Paul flirt on the terrace, leading to a sizzling scene where Benedict catches Tilley and Paul in a passionate kiss.

Exploring Benedict’s Depths
Luke Thompson, the actor behind Benedict, teased how this season will shine a light on a new side of the character.
“Benedict has always been a little lost — or free depending on the way you want to look at it. But now he’s trying to find something a bit more solid in himself,” he said in a statement for Tudum.
“It felt important for him to explore the fullness of himself before he settles down,” showrunner Jess Brownell added. “He is someone who has big appetites, and we wanted to see him living a big life before he goes into settle-down mode.”
The Lady in Silver
So, who will Benedict be pining after in the upcoming season? Sorry, it’s not another handsome bachelor.
Tudum says season 4 will see the “bohemian second son chasing after an enchanting woman dubbed the Lady in Silver. Benedict will meet her at his mother’s masquerade ball. Still, who knows what surprises the Bridgerton creators may have?
“There are a lot of things I want to say about it, but I should probably wait … ,” Brownell teases.
Benedict’s season will have 8 episodes and is rumored to begin filming in September. However, you can still get your Bridgerton fix here!
