Netflix

Ellen DeGeneres returns to stand-up comedy after a 15-year hiatus with Ellen DeGeneres: Relatable.

For the last fifteen years, the world-famous comedian devoted her time to hosting her Emmy-winning series The Ellen DeGeneres Show. However, she started her career as a stand-up comedian making audiences laugh with her impeccable timing and lighthearted sense of humor. The wait is over; DeGeneres returns to the stage for her new Netflix special Ellen DeGeneres: Relatable on December 18.

In a trailer for the new special, DeGeneres jokes about how she created the show’s name.

“A friend of mine was at my house, and I told him, ‘I’m going to do stand-up again,’ and he said, ‘Really?’ and I said, ‘I was hoping for more than a ‘really,’ and he said, ‘Well, do you think you’re still relatable?’ Just then two of my butlers stepped into the library.”

Ellen DeGeneres: Relatable, which was filmed at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, will be available to stream on Netflix on December 18.
