Scandalous Santas Stampede Through Boston

This is a photo of runners participating in the Santa Speedo Run.

Every year Boston hosts one of the nippiest banana hammock celebrations in the nation — the Santa Speedo Run (SSRun). The SSRun raises money for local children’s charities and inspires hundreds of people to sport their Speedos and run like a reindeer.

According to their official website, “The SSRun is a fun, unique and crowd-pleasing fundraising event like no other you have experienced. It began in Boston in 2000 with 5 guys just looking to spread some holiday spirit by running through Back Bay in only Santa hats and Speedos. Since then it has grown to include 700 men and women each year and has become an annual holiday tradition that has hosted thousands of participants who have helped to raise over $1.6 million for local children in need.”

This year the Play Ball! Foundation is the official beneficiary. If you’d like to learn more about the SSRun or donate, visit SSRunners.org.
