Remembering a quirky incident from 50 years ago, when a streaker dashed across the stage during the Oscars, host Jimmy Kimmel teased the audience with the possibility of history repeating itself. Little did they know, Cena was about to make it happen!
Cena’s Cheeky Change of Heart
Initially, Cena seemed to back out of the stunt, telling a surprised Kimmel that going nude didn’t feel right for such a dignified event and even lecturing him on taste. But the wrestler-turned-actor had a change of heart and eventually strutted onto the stage, showing off a lot more skin than usual, only his trusty Birkenstocks and a vital envelope in tow.
From Wrestler to Fashion Icon?
Cena, known for wrestling in denim shorts, humorously countered Kimmel’s nudging about his comfort with being nearly naked by defending his signature jorts. Yet there he was, embracing the Oscar stage with little to nothing on, turning heads and dropping jaws.
As he introduced the nominees with a deadpan expression, Cena claimed he couldn’t even open the envelope, adding to the night’s comedic flair. Unfortunately, he didn’t stay that way for long. After the nominee reel, Cena reappeared in a more covered, toga-like attire, made from what seemed to be a nude-colored curtain.
