It’s the season of the gay rom-com.

Neil Patrick Harris is back in the dating game in the new trailer for Netflix’s gay romantic comedy, Uncoupled.

Michael Lawson (Harris) seems to have it all figured out. He’s a successful New York City real estate agent with a great career, a supportive family, close friends, and a loving relationship with his partner of 17 years, Colin (Tuc Watkins). But when Colin unexpectedly moves out on the eve of his 50th birthday, Michael is completely blindsided. Overnight, he has to confront two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soulmate and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.

As if being single in the Big Apple wasn’t hard enough. But Michael has his best friends by his side to help him maneuver through the world of Grindr and d*** pics. Joining Harris is the excellent Tisha Campbell (Suzanne), Marcia Gay Harden (Claire), Emerson Brooks (Billy), and Brooks Ashmanskas (Stanley).

Together, Sex and the City and Emily In Paris creators Darren Star as well as Jeffrey Richman bring a story of heartbreak and hilarity as Harris’ character does his best to live life to the fullest. Which sometimes includes stripping down in a public locker room. Just saying.

“This photo was taken on the set. I did a few pushups.”

“We are so excited to share our series Uncoupled,” Star and Richman said in a statement. “It is a passion project for both of us, one that has given us the opportunity to write a bittersweet romantic comedy from the perspective of a gay man.

“And while the world is specific, we believe the themes of love, loss, and reinvention will be relatable to everyone.”
