Burned Hate-Crime Victim’s GoFundMe Needs Your Support
Earlier today, we posted an article about a vicious hate crime involving a young couple (Marquez Tolbert, 21, and Anthony Gooden, 23), a brutal attacker and boiling water. That article was shared more than 2,000 times, and we hope it generated at a least few donations on Marquez’s GoFundMe.
After reading Mashable’s article, we realized there are separate GoFundMe pages set up for Marquez and Anthony. Marquez is very close to hitting his $30,000 goal, but Anthony has only raised $4,700. Now, we’re not asking you to donate, but we are asking you to share this article with your friends and family.
We’re a ridiculously small startup and a fledging blog, but we can’t sit this one out. We promise to give all of our advertising revenue for the next 72 hours to Anthony’s GoFundMe page. Although we encourage you to donate, a share goes a long way.
Hang in there, Marquez and Anthony. With a little help from our friends, we’ll crush those goals.
